WHAT YOUR DONATION WILL GO TOWARDS
Compassion Coalition launched Equipped to Teach, Central New York’s very FIRST teacher free store in the late fall of 2017. Teachers who teach at schools of 70% or higher free or reduced lunch are able to come and shop by appointment at Compassion Coalition free of charge, and leaving with between $600-$1,000 in free product for their classrooms. The monies raised through the Boilermaker Charity Bib program will go toward bringing a health and wellness component to our Teacher Resource Center. Teachers have been asking Compassion about securing product to enable children in their schools to become more active and bring awareness to healthy foods. Compassion Coalition has kicked off this initiative by providing a local elementary school teacher with 25 yoga mats to begin an after-school yoga club. We are currently in the process of going through requests from local teachers who are interested in providing dance classes, after school/before school yoga lessons, and healthy snacks to provide children during the day and after school.
WHAT DOES COMPASSION COALITION DO?
For 18 years, Compassion Coalition has been considered one of the top non-profit agencies in Utica and Central NY. Every political and social influencer has praised Compassion Coalition for its innovative approach to help those most vulnerable in the community. Since 1999 Compassion Coalition has donated well over $20 Million in products on a yearly basis. Additionally, in 2016 it served over 300,000 individuals all doing this with one of the lowest donation to expense ratio. Currently, Compassion Coalition can boast that .96 cents out of every $1 will go back to the community. Today, Compassion Coalition is an international organization headquartered in Utica NY and although their services can be seen in different nations its main priority is still serving its community.
